Web App for Mental Health
Made during StarterHacks 2019, this was my first experience with Vue.js and Hackathons. Along with learning a lot about backend web development, using Firebase, in a short amount of time I also gained interest in designing SPAs.
One of the problem statements at the Hackathons was from the Canadian Mental Health Association, to find a way to help those with mental health issues.
We decided to create an online, community powered forum for helping people tackle mental health issues and connect to people who are going through similar issues.
WATHealth aims to tackle all these problems by offering complete anonymity by default, using NLP tools like the IBM Watson API to examine the content a user interacts with to understand if a user needs immediate help. The web app we created also has a unique Buddy system where users are assigned a random partner who shares the same problems to discuss their issues and help each other.
